Silicon carbide market is in short supply

Mar. 1, 2022 - Silicon carbide quotations remained stable compared to February. In Ningxia and Gansu, there is no change today in the prices of silicon carbide blocks.

Because of Ningxia environmental protection renovation and Gansu energy assessment, the actual operating rate of silicon carbide producers is about 50%. Since 2022, silicon carbide has been in short supply. To ensure normal operations, they only supply familiar customers and do not accept orders from new customers. Some companies have even stopped quoting customers.

Recently, due to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, oil and gas prices could have risen sharply, which has little impact on silicon carbide enterprises in the short term. If the war continues, it may cause the production cost of silicon carbide to rise, and the price could increase crazily later.
